Our Story

Where elegance meets natural splendor

How We Got Here

Look, we didn't set out to be just another mountain resort. Back in 2008, when most folks saw an old lumber baron's estate, we saw something way more interesting.

The original stone foundation's still there - we kept it because honestly, they built things better back then. What started as a restoration project turned into something we're pretty proud of. We've managed to blend that historic character with what today's guests actually want, without the stuffiness that usually comes with "luxury" hotels.

Fifteen years later, we're still family-owned, still obsessed with getting the little details right, and yeah, still a bit unconventional in how we do things around here.

What Drives Us

We're not gonna bore you with corporate speak about excellence and paradigms. Here's what actually matters to us every single day.

Authenticity Over Pretense

We've got world-class amenities, sure, but we're not here to make you feel like you need a manual to enjoy your stay. Luxury should feel natural, not rehearsed. Our team talks like real people because, well, they are.

The Mountains Matter

Whistler's our backyard, and we take that seriously. From sourcing ingredients locally to partnering with conservation groups, we're invested in keeping this place as stunning for the next generation as it is today.

Details Nobody Asked For

Ever notice the soap smells different depending on the season? Or that we adjust room temperatures before you arrive based on weather patterns? That's us being weirdly meticulous about stuff most hotels don't think about.

Your Story, Not Ours

Whether you're here for an anniversary, closing a deal, or just escaping reality for a weekend - we get it. Your experience is yours. We're just here to make sure everything works perfectly in the background.

Hotel Architecture Interior Design

Architecture & Design Philosophy

Our architect had this wild idea - what if the building didn't compete with the view, but complemented it? Sounds obvious now, but you'd be surprised how many mountain hotels get this wrong.

We used local stone and timber not because it's trendy, but because it actually makes sense here. The south-facing glass walls aren't just for Instagram - they flood the spaces with natural light and frame those mountain vistas we keep talking about.

Inside, we went with a minimalist approach that lets the surroundings do the heavy lifting. Clean lines, neutral tones with pops of forest green and warm gold, and furniture that's actually comfortable (not just expensive-looking).

Fun fact: Every suite has a slightly different layout because we built around the existing landscape contours rather than flattening everything. Makes construction harder, but the end result's way more interesting.

Meet Some Familiar Faces

The people who actually make this place run

Margaret Chen
Margaret Chen

General Manager

Been with us since day one. She's the reason everything runs smooth even when it shouldn't. Knows every guest by name after one visit.

James Kowalski
James Kowalski

Executive Chef

Trained in Paris, came back to BC because "the ingredients here are better." His words, not ours. Can't argue with the results though.

Priya Sharma
Priya Sharma

Spa Director

Holistic wellness expert who somehow makes relaxation feel less cheesy. Her signature treatments are booked weeks out for a reason.

David Laurent
David Laurent

Head Concierge

If it exists in Whistler, he knows about it. Probably knows the owner too. His local connections are borderline supernatural.

Sustainability Isn't a Buzzword Here

We're in the mountains. Kind of hard to ignore environmental stuff when you're literally surrounded by nature everyday.

Our geothermal heating and cooling system costs a fortune to maintain, but cuts our carbon footprint by about 60%. The rooftop solar panels handle most of our hot water needs. We compost everything the kitchen doesn't use.

Yeah, we've got the Green Key certification and whatever other plaques corporate groups like to see. But honestly? We do this stuff because it's the right move, not for marketing points.

Come See For Yourself

We could keep talking about ourselves all day, but you probably get the picture by now. We're a bit different, pretty comfortable in our own skin, and genuinely love what we do.

Whether you're planning a quick weekend escape or a longer stay, we'd love to have you. No pressure, no hard sell - just good hospitality in a stunning location.
